You can configure the same core values used by our egg runtime: GAME, SERVER_NAME, MAP, TOKEN, optional SBOX_PROJECT (.sbproj path), SBOX_EXTRA_ARGS, SBOX_AUTO_UPDATE
By default, SBOX_AUTO_UPDATE=1 runs SteamCMD app_update at startup before launching the server. If you want stricter change control, set it to 0 and update manually during maintenance windows.
S&Box on Source 2 benefits from high single-core CPU speed and fast storage. The memory requirement depends on the gamemode you are playing, some games can run with a minimal of 3GB, We currently recommend starting with 6 GB RAM for smaller communities, Larger gamemodes or player counts may require more memory. You can easily upgrade memory as your needs grow.
Yes. Place your .sbproj file inside the /projects folder and pass its path to the SBOX_PROJECT environment variable (for example: sbox-walker-main/walker.sbproj).
Yes. Set SBOX_BRANCH to the branch name and startup updates will request that Steam beta branch. Leave it empty to follow the default public branch.
Our S&Box hosting uses a custom egg built on Alpine Linux using Wine, optimized for Source 2 performance and stability. It includes the latest S&Box runtime, SteamCMD, and necessary dependencies. The egg is regularly updated to ensure compatibility with new S&Box releases and features and can be found on our GitHub repository: https://github.com/HyberHost/gameforge-sbox-egg
